In January, 2009, Crossover adopted a Movement-Wide Initiative called “16:9.” The name refers to Acts 16:9—the vision request of the Macedonians to the Apostle Paul to “come over to Macedonia and help us.” Crossover was asked by the church leaders of a Central Asian country to train church planters throughout their country. A few years ago, one of those leaders became aware of the blessing of God upon our church planting movement in Moldova, prompting him to ask for assistance when his government closed his country to foreign missionaries. Crossover will mobilize and train church planters with a goal to plant at least 25 churches in the country.
Training will take place in-country, though opportunities for training at our new training center in Moldova may become a possibility as the center anticipates opening in late 2009.
Each sending base will take part in this initiative in the following ways:
- Crossover-Moldova will provide the primary leadership, direction and training.
- Crossover-Australia will help with prayer, raising the funding and sending Short-term teams.
- Crossover-Brazil will focus on developing Business-as-Missions and sending Short-term teams.
- Crossover-USA will help with prayer and raising the funding.
If you wish to invest in the 16:9 Initiative, with its projected cost of over $200,000 over the next three years, please contact us for more information.
